3. Management and operation of the own Vocational Training Centre of bfi Wien (BAZ)
The Vocational Training Centre of bfi Wien was established in 1987 and has a capacity of 730 apprenticeship training positions at present. It offers educational and further training courses for metal and electrical trades as well as information and communication technology and commercial art. Upon training needs analysis qualification trainings were developed and implemented. These programmes meet the strategy of the Austrian employment policy.
Among others, in the Vocational Training Centre of bfi Wien special courses take place to obtain a skilled worker's qualification. Funding is made by the Public Employment Service Vienna of the Austrian Government.
A special department is responsible for studying, identifying and monitoring of the employers' and employees' needs for vocational training.
The overall perspective is the (re-)integration of persons or disabled groups into the labour market. There exists a network of the Vocational Training Centre of bfi Wien with enterprises, and the Employment Service. This implicates continuous strengthening of the institution like checking, improving and - if necessary - changing areas of management activities.
